OVERVIEW: The ISM400 represents Mentpack's entry-level sachet packaging machine, engineered for maximum versatility and designed to integrate seamlessly with various filling units. It is capable of packaging a wide array of products, including liquids, non-flowing powders, and free-flowing granular products. This model is ideally suited for products new to the market or those with lower production volume requirements. Its simplified mechanical and electrical architecture contributes to reduced maintenance and operational costs, while providing high ease-of-use without requiring advanced technical expertise. PERFORMANCE AND MOTION SYSTEM: The ISM400 employs an asynchronous motor complemented by a pneumatic control mechanism. Machine operation is precisely governed by upper and lower level sensors, ensuring accurate motion synchronization. Horizontal sealing jaws are activated by a dedicated sealing level sensor to pull the packaging film downward. The pulling stage concludes at the lower sensor level, where the jaws open to mechanically define the package length. When utilizing printed film with the photocell feature enabled, the horizontal jaws open proactively, prior to reaching the lower sensor level, to facilitate exact length registration. Servo-motor-driven silicone gripper rollers are integrated to maintain consistent film tension and prevent potential slippage during operation. PACKAGING CAPABILITIES: The ISM400 is designed for operational flexibility, supporting film rolls up to 400mm in width and accommodating up to 4 lanes. A significant feature of this model is its capability to adjust package width without necessitating part replacements, though this can vary depending on the specific filling unit integrated. The reel stand is strategically located at the rear of the machine and incorporates an air-shaft-based film changeover system, equipped with a pneumatic O-ring braking mechanism for efficient film handling. Film is consistently directed from the reel stand over a series of rollers towards the vertical sealing jaws. CUTTING SYSTEM: The machine's cutting unit provides a standard zigzag serrated cut, ensuring reliable sachet separation. Straight-cut options are available through optional attachments. Both the cutting blade and the photocell sensor are mounted on the reel stand, facilitating easy accessibility for adjustments and routine maintenance. CONTROL SYSTEM: The ISM400 is equipped with a user-friendly Human Machine Interface (HMI) panel. This interface includes manual output test and motor jogging functions, specifically engineered to simplify maintenance procedures. The control system provides clear operator alerts for all alarm conditions. Upon reaching a target production quantity, the machine can be configured to either automatically reset and continue operation or to stop completely, accompanied by a signal warning. Air pressure is continuously monitored and displayed as a trend on the HMI panel. Recipe management and saving functions are available, requiring special hardware for implementation.
